Many of our loyal readers have been asking about Miss Fluff Puff. Do you still have her? Is she doing okay? So here is her story in her own words:
Yes, of course I am still here—the goats couldn’t manage without me, you know. I have a new friend that I spend a lot of my time with. Her name is Stella and I’m sure she is pregnant and will need help with her babies when they come, since she has never had any before.
So I lay with her and tell her all about what will happen when she has her little ones. She recognizes that I have had a lot of experience as the Super Cat Nanny here at Swan View Ranch, so she listens intently.
I past my 16th birthday in April with little fanfare other than Mom and Dad did get me a new bed. I was super grateful as the old one had been used by the kids around here for the last several years, and suffice to say that the padding was nearly gone—not good for old bones.
The new one has a wonderful soft cushion and it’s warm and fluffy. Mom put it right under a heat lamp so I can stay comfortable when it cools down so much at night. You know how it is when we get older—we feel the changes in temperature a lot more than we did in our younger years.
I’m doing great though, and just caught a rabbit for dinner tonight. Boy that was delicious. A couple of weeks ago, I caught a chipmunk, but I didn’t really care for the taste of that. I never did finish it. I felt guilty wasting food when there are so many kitties that don’t have any, but I just couldn’t get through it!
Thank you to everyone for thinking of me. I will keep you posted when Stella has her babies. She and I will raise them up right and they will be fine Boer Goats!
Miss Fluff, thank you for the update. You are looking great and it’s nice that you haven’t gone completely into retirement as I’m sure you have considered and deserved. You are obviously still needed on the ranch and have a lot of expertise to offer. I’m sure you are a big part in keeping things running smoothly. Congratulations on the new bed, too. You look simply divine in it.
Oh thank you Diane – for your kind and, of course, very true words! I wish all of my fans a very Happy 4th of July. I personally will be spending the 4th hidden in the barn with the goats!!! I just don’t appreciate loud noises!
